Whakahekerau Second Beach Ecology Action

A community initiative to support regenerating bush at Second Beach through weed and predator control, and plantings of suitable native trees and shrubs.

This will result in greater biodiversity and support native birds. It will enhance the experience of all who enjoy visiting this special part of our city.

Volunteer to help check traps or come along to one of our regular working bees to help clear weeds and plant natives.

Key native species: Kererū, tui, korimako/bellbirds, rifleman/titipounamu
